First edition. Tom Wood took these photographs whilst traveling on the Liverpool bus network between 1979 and 1994. ‘The city is constantly referred to while never claiming to have been shown; its inhabitants are photographically described and revealed. It coalesces then fragments, nothing is eventually simple or transparent, but our sense of these inhabitants, and our picture of this city have been informed in a most complex and compelling way’ (Chris Killip).
